Real Weddings – Christchurch – Catherine & Kris

Venue: Wigram Base, Christchurch

Celebrant: Richard Truter

Photographer: Jared Donking (RadLab)

In March this year we got to work with Catherine & Kris on their beautiful Wedding in Christchurch’s Wigram Base. This Wedding was a had some history for us as Catherine used to live and work in the Auckland club scene where many of our DJs began many years ago, so of course Catherine wanted us involved in her big day. She flew down the company director Jan Holland who had DJed in several of the bars she worked at, as well as flying down Jared her Photographer who was the club photographer back in the days – really bringing back the A Team from her 20s you could say!

The day began with the couple doing pre wedding photos around the beautiful city of Christchurch before heading to Wigram base to meet friends and family for the ceremony. Jan had made a custom edit for Catherine to walk down the aisle extracting a specific vocal & piano loop from Kanye Wests – Dark Fantasy song, and wrapping up the ceremony with Dean Martin carrying through the Big Band vibes through out the after noon.

Guests gathered inside the reception venue for some of the funniest speeches we have heard in a while before the couple enjoyed their first dance to James Morrisons ‘You Give me Something.’ The dance floor was filled with classic hits and all of Catherines favourite songs from back in her clubbing days lifting off the roof and cranking the dance floor until the very last song!
